Handwashing Awareness Week this week

The goal of National Handwashing Awareness Week organized every year in the first week of December, is to decrease the spread of infectious diseases by empowering individuals to educate and help protect their communities. Working together we can make a difference!

Winter is the season when most of us get the regular cold. As we know, this could be prevented simply by washing/sanitizing hand frequently. Here are the 4 principles of
Hand Awareness:

  • Wash your hands when they are dirty and BEFORE eating
  • DO NOT cough into your hands
  • DO NOT sneeze into your hands
  • Above all, DO NOT put your fingers into your eyes, nose or mouth

In an effort to support National Handwashing Awareness Week and to keep students, teachers and educators healthy, Certification Map created an infographic with facts pertaining to hand washing; how to do it correctly and common mistakes people make when washing their hands.
